Whew! We’ve been busy this summer! Here, there and everywhere…but not working in the garden. We are having a fantastic summer. The weather has been great. Perfect for hikes, bike riding and days spend at our friends cabin. Chores have been limited to watering and mowing the lawn. The rest can wait until September. All I want to do in my garden right now is drink my morning tea and have lazy summer dinners on the deck. Life is good ![]()
Serious Pruning

Yes that is my husband up in that tree. We have finally decided to tackle the back portion of our yard. It’s been on the list for a long time. Since it is so dark back there, we decided to limb up some of the hemlock and fir trees. It is much brighter now and my compost bins are thankful.
My son and I spend some time raking up all the branches, cones and needles yesterday. We still have much to do but it is looking much tidier now. As far as planting, I will stick with native plants such as ferns etc. It’s a tough area and I don’t have time to pamper.

•July 14, 2008 • 13 CommentsI’ve just received an email from Sylvia from England. She just send me an email about following up comments on my blog. She suggested that instead of sending off a personal email, readers would prefer to have the comments on the blog. I used to do that on my old blog and I guess I got away from it. Mainly because I follow alot of photography blogs and they send the personal emails. I also thought that many people wouldn’t come back and check the comments.
Sylvia got me thinking. I sure hope I haven’t come across as rude and too busy not to comment back. I will from now on comment back on the blog. Thanks Sylvia for your advice ![]()
